Ever since the advent of on-the-go communication in the early 20th century, there has been a drive for more portable, better, smaller devices to carry messages, from texting to voice chatting. This concept has carried on into the 22nd century as well in the form of the ComLink. A Earth company formed in the 20th century known as "Motorola" started making cell phones and mobile communication devices, and after many iterations and prototypes, the first "ComLink" was born. A ComLink is a mobile computer that can mount to almost anything and comes in many shapes and forms, used by military and civilians for not only personal communication but also can check E-mails, send text messages, keep time and date, organize tasks, calculate, play games, manage alarms and timers, organize contacts, send IR signals, preform push-to-talk services for radios and also browse the internet, much like cellphones today but much more advanced and faster at preforming these tasks, using their own signals instead of satellites with an extremely long range. Their signals can reach from planet to planet. It's battery life is a standard 150 years. ComLink is merely just a brand for this device and is the most common, it's rugged design, versatility and functinality places all other communication devices and their companies out of business and rendering all other brands obsolete. It is widly adopted through out the galaxy making Motorola a mega corporation. ComLink is so popular that it has special nodes that have been placed around cities for street communications and emergency services, providing video calls at the expense of credits.
